Sensodyne
SENSODYNER (Original)

Active Ingredient:
How it works
- Strontium chloride (SrCl2)

- Blocks the liquid in dentin tubule. Strontium Chloride will replace the position of Calcium in dentin by forming Calcium Strontium Xydroxyapat Chrystal.
- A little bit salty.
SENSODYNE Fresh Mint

SENSODYNE Gum Care
With additional sodium bicarbonate to protect the gum.
SENSODYNE Cool Gel
- Potassium nitrate 5%, Fluoride
- Brush your teeth twice a day
How it works
- Potassium nitrate (KNO3)
When the toothpaste is mixed with the saliva, KCL will release K ions. K ions will slip under the dentin tubule and cover the nerves in pulps, decreasing sensitivity of the nerves.
Sensodyne as the Support of Bleaching Treatment
- Based on a research by Cooper, Bookmeyer, and Bowles in 1992, active ingredient in bleaching can penetrate inside the enamel and dentin and reach the pulp chamber and increase sensitivity of teeth as a form of symptoms of reversible pulpits.
- Sensodyne with active ingredient of potassium nitrat dan fluoride (Sensodyne F) when used before and during bleaching treatment can be used to solve tooth sensitivity problems as a side effect of bleaching treatment (Haywood, 2005)
N=220 subject; 2 weeks before a scheduled bleaching until 14th day of bleaching using Sensodyne FreshMint vs regular fluoride toothpaste (Crest™).
